I have one issue, since when is casablanca one of your favorite movies?

Thanks Laurie.

whitepearl,
Ha - been going through my profile, have we?
Casablanca has been one of my favourite films ever since i first watched it years and years ago, on that fateful rainy afternoon.
I don't understand why you have an issue though, do you not like it?

Ap,

Ha ha NO! It's one of my favourite movies as well. We discussed this on RD once.

I don't remember that - You sure it was with me?

Anyway, i'm glad you like casablanca, it's an amazing film - it certainly puts most modern films to shame.

Nope! I thought so, I remember mentioning that I was watching it once during one of the music/beer/movie chats we all used to have.

[fade screen to memory] oh wow seems like such a long time ago. Gone are the days of talking freely and jokingly without being reprimanded by certain topic natzis.

Any way back on topic, I agree Casablanca is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Movies today don't even hold a candle to the classics. They were just so damn great.

whitepearl,
*apathy wistfully stares into the middle distance*
I do also miss the days when we were allowed to have fun on RD.net, when we used to frolic in an abundance of silly jokes and movie/music/alcohol references - *sigh* But now we have the dark days of rigid conformity and head up own arse seriousness, otherwise the resident Ministries of Truth and Love will have at us.

Some modern films are as good - ('The assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford' being one), but you are right, must are just a collection of special effects and questionable moral absolutes.
